Let us do it
Open a support ticket with a list of the accounts to move and access to your old hosting (for example, the control panel login or a backup of each account). We move the websites, databases and email, and tell you when each customer is ready to switch.
Moving an account yourself
- Create the customer's account and add their domain.
- Use Login as User to work in their account.
- Upload their files, create and import their databases, and recreate their email accounts. See Uploading your website and Importing a database.
- Check the site with Preview.
- Point the domain to the new server.
If your old host uses cPanel or Plesk and you see Import from cPanel/Plesk in Domains → Domain List, you can use it to import whole accounts. Otherwise, we are happy to do it for you.
Avoiding lost email
- Lower the DNS TTL a day before the move, so the switch spreads quickly.
- Keep the old mailboxes running for a few days after switching, so nothing sent in between is lost.
- Ask customers to note their email passwords, or set new ones and tell them before the switch.
