Create a domain under a customer's account, or create the account and the website in one go.
A customer's website lives under their hosting account. There are two ways to set it up.
Option 1: for an existing customer
- Sign in to HostPanel and go to Domains → Create Domain.
- Enter the customer's domain in Domain Name, without
www. - Turn off Auto-create user for this domain and choose the customer as the owner.
- Choose the PHP version and web server if shown, and select Let's Encrypt (Free) for the SSL certificate.
- Click Create Domain.
Option 2: create the customer and the website together
Leave Auto-create user for this domain switched on. A new hosting account is created for the domain on your default plan, and its login details are shown once on screen. Copy them straight away; they are not shown again.
After creating the website
- The summary screen shows the website's folder, PHP version, SSL status, server IP and nameservers. Use the shortcuts to create the customer's email accounts and database.
- The website goes live once the domain points to the server. Send your customer the nameservers or IP address, or update them yourself if you manage their domain.
- Until then, use Preview in the domain list to check the site.
The customer can add more websites themselves, up to their plan's domain limit.
