What CPU, memory, disk, inode and bandwidth limits mean, what happens when you reach them, and how to fix it.
Every Twerple plan comes with a set amount of resources. Your account runs in its own isolated space, so another customer can never use up your share, and you can never use up theirs.
Where to see your usage
- The HostPanel dashboard shows your CPU, memory and disk usage, or a Resource Limits card with your bandwidth and counts.
- If your plan includes it, Monitoring → Resource Usage shows live figures that refresh every few seconds.
- The Overview tab of your hosting in the client area shows a summary.
Bars turn amber at 75% and red at 90% of a limit.
What happens when you reach a limit
| Limit | What happens |
|---|---|
| CPU | Your site keeps running but is slowed down until demand drops. |
| Memory (RAM) | The process using too much memory is stopped. Visitors may see an error on that request. |
| Processes | New processes cannot start until others finish. |
| Disk space or inodes | Your site keeps working, but new files, uploads and emails cannot be saved. Deleting files still works. |
| Monthly bandwidth | The domain is flagged when the month's traffic allowance is used up. |
An inode is one file or folder. A site with very many small files, such as cache files or old email, can reach its inode limit while disk space still looks fine.
How to fix it
- Find what is using the space with Files → Disk Usage, and delete old backups, logs and cache files.
- Empty large mailboxes, or move old email to your computer.
- For high CPU or memory, turn on caching (see Speeding up your website with the page cache) and update your plugins.
- If your website has simply grown, move to a bigger plan. Contact us and we will upgrade you with no downtime.
