The server names, ports and security settings to add your Twerple mailbox to any mail app.
Use these settings to add your Twerple mailbox to any mail app. Replace example.com with your domain and you@example.com with your email address.
Settings
| Setting | Value |
|---|---|
| User name | your full email address, e.g. you@example.com |
| Password | the mailbox password |
| Incoming server (IMAP) | mail.example.com, port 993, SSL/TLS |
| Incoming server (POP3) | mail.example.com, port 995, SSL/TLS |
| Outgoing server (SMTP) | mail.example.com, port 465, SSL/TLS |
| Outgoing authentication | On, with the same user name and password |
To see the exact settings for a mailbox, go to Email → Email Accounts in HostPanel and use the config action on the account. It shows the values your server uses, ready to copy.
IMAP or POP3?
Choose IMAP. Your email stays on the server and is in sync on every device: read a message on your phone and it shows as read on your computer too. POP3 downloads email to one device and is only useful if you want to keep mail off the server.
Common problems
- The app says the password is wrong: make sure the user name is the full email address, not just the part before the @.
- Receiving works but sending does not: check that outgoing authentication is switched on and uses port 465 with SSL/TLS.
- Certificate warning for a new domain: the mail certificate for a brand-new domain can take up to a day to be issued. Wait and try again.
- The mailbox has stopped working: it may be full. See Changing an email password or mailbox size.
