Step-by-step instructions for the iPhone and iPad Mail app and for Gmail on Android.

Have your full email address and mailbox password ready. Replace example.com with your domain.

iPhone and iPad

  1. Open Settings, then Mail (on older versions, Passwords & Accounts), then Accounts → Add Account.
  2. Choose Other, then Add Mail Account.
  3. Enter your name, email address, password and a description, and tap Next.
  4. Choose IMAP.
  5. Under Incoming Mail Server and Outgoing Mail Server, enter mail.example.com as the host name, and your full email address and password as the user name and password.
  6. Tap Next, then Save.

The phone usually detects the secure ports by itself. If sending fails, open the account, tap Outgoing Mail Server → SMTP → mail.example.com, turn on Use SSL and set the port to 465.

Android (Gmail app)

  1. Open the Gmail app, tap your profile picture and choose Add another account.
  2. Choose Other, enter your email address and tap Manual setup.
  3. Choose Personal (IMAP) and enter your password.
  4. Incoming server: mail.example.com, port 993, security SSL/TLS.
  5. Outgoing server: mail.example.com, port 465, security SSL/TLS, with Require sign-in on.
  6. Finish the setup and choose how often to check for new mail.

All settings are listed in Email settings for your mail app.
