Scheduling automatic backups

1 min read • Updated 2 weeks ago • Backups & Restores

Have HostPanel create your own backups on a schedule, on top of our daily backups.

Our daily backups run automatically for every account. If you want extra backups of your own on a schedule, for example every hour for a busy shop, you can set them up in HostPanel.

Creating a schedule

  1. Sign in to HostPanel and go to Backup → Schedules.
  2. Create a new schedule.
  3. Choose how often it runs: hourly, daily at a chosen hour, weekly or monthly.
  4. Choose what to include: files, databases, email, DNS and SSL. Leave Domains empty to include all your websites.
  5. Set how many days to keep backups. Older ones are deleted automatically.
  6. Save.

Keep an eye on disk space

Scheduled backups are stored in your account and count towards your disk space. Frequent backups of a large site can fill it quickly, so keep the retention short, or include only the databases if your files rarely change.

If you do not see Schedules in your menu, your plan relies on our daily backups. Contact us if you need more frequent backups.
