Using phpMyAdmin

1 min read • Updated 2 weeks ago • Databases

Browse, search, edit, import and export your database in the browser.

phpMyAdmin is a tool for working with your database in the browser: viewing tables, running searches, editing rows, and importing or exporting data.

Opening phpMyAdmin

  1. Sign in to HostPanel and go to Databases → MySQL Databases.
  2. Click phpMyAdmin next to the database you want. It opens with that database selected.
  3. If asked to sign in, use the database user name and its password, not your HostPanel login.

Common tasks

  • Browse a table: click its name on the left, then Browse.
  • Search: open a table and use Search, or use the SQL tab to run your own query.
  • Edit a row: click Edit next to it, change the values and click Go.
  • Import: see Importing a database.
  • Export: see Exporting a database.
Changes in phpMyAdmin are immediate and cannot be undone. Export a copy of the database before you make big changes.
