Renew a domain manually, choose how many years to add, and make sure it never expires by accident.
Auto-renew
With Auto-Renew on, we create the renewal invoice automatically before the domain expires and email it to you. Turn it on or off in the Domains list, or on the domain’s page.
Auto-renew makes sure the invoice is created, but the domain is only renewed once the invoice is paid. Keep enough credit in your account balance, or pay the invoice when it arrives.
Renewing manually
- Open Domains, click Manage and then Renew Domain.
- Under Select Renewal Period, choose how many years to add. The page shows your current expiry date and the new one.
- Click Pay Renewal Invoice and pay.
The years are added to your current expiry date, so renewing early never loses you any time.
If a domain expires
When a domain expires, your website and email on it stop working. Most extensions have a short grace period in which you can still renew at the normal price, followed by a redemption period in which the registry charges a restore fee. After that, anyone can register the name. If one of your domains has expired, open a ticket straight away and we will tell you what can still be done.
